Customs & Import Taxes
- We ship our products via Japan Post (EMS, international parcels, etc.). Your country's postal service (e.g., USPS in the U.S.) will handle the final delivery.
- Customs duties and import taxes (such as VAT, GST, or other local taxes) may apply when receiving your order. These fees are the customer's responsibility and are not included in the product price or shipping fee.
- United States: Personal imports under approximately $800 USD are generally duty-free. Higher-value purchases may be subject to customs duties. The U.S. does not impose a national VAT on imports.
- Canada: Imports valued at over CAD 20 may be subject to 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax) and provincial taxes (PST or HST). Certain items may also incur customs duties.
- Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, etc.): In Australia, all imported goods are subject to a 10% GST (Goods and Services Tax). Additionally, orders over AUD 1,000 may incur customs duties. In New Zealand, a 15% GST applies to all imports, and purchases over NZD 1,000 may also be subject to customs duties.
- Europe (EU countries): VAT (Value-Added Tax) is required on all imports, even for low-value goods (effective since 2021). Orders over €150 may also be subject to customs duties. The UK (United Kingdom) applies VAT to all imports and may impose customs duties on higher-value shipments.
- Asia: Import duties and taxes vary by country. Some regions, such as China, may impose taxes even on low-value items. Singapore has applied GST on all imports since 2023. Please check your local customs regulations for details on import fees in your country.
- Payment of customs duties at delivery: When receiving your package, customs authorities or your local postal service may require you to pay customs duties or taxes. These fees must be paid by the recipient. We do not collect these charges in advance. Failure to pay may result in the package being returned to us, and we will not be able to refund shipping costs.
- Customs duties & taxes on returns: If you return a product, any customs duties, import taxes, or VAT paid at the time of import are non-refundable. We cannot refund these charges. If you wish to request a refund for taxes paid, please contact your local customs office for further assistance.
