Article 1 – Application of the Terms
We (the rental car provider) rent out vehicles (“rental cars”) to customers (“renters”) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) and the related Detailed Provisions. The renter agrees to rent the vehicle after fully understanding and accepting these Terms.
Any matters not stipulated in these Terms or the Detailed Provisions shall be governed by applicable laws or standard business practices.
We may enter into special agreements with the renter provided they do not violate the intent of these Terms, related laws, or customs. In such cases, the special agreement shall take precedence over these Terms.
If someone other than the renter will drive the vehicle, the renter must inform that driver of all responsibilities and obligations outlined in these Terms and ensure compliance.
Article 2 – Reservation
(Reservation Request)
The renter may make a reservation in advance by agreeing to the applicable price list and submitting a request through our designated method, clearly indicating the rental conditions.
We will accept the reservation based on the details provided and may request a reservation deposit.
(Changes to Reservation)
Any changes to the reservation must be approved by us in advance.
(Cancellation of Reservation)
Either party may cancel the reservation prior to the rental start time.
If more than one hour has passed from the scheduled rental start time and the agreement has not been finalized, the reservation will be automatically canceled.
If the cancellation is due to the renter’s circumstances, a cancellation fee will be charged according to our policy. The reservation deposit will be refunded after deducting the applicable fee.
If we cancel due to our own circumstances, we will refund the deposit in full and pay the stipulated cancellation compensation.
If the agreement is not concluded for any other reason, the deposit will be refunded.
Except as specified in this and the following article, neither party may make claims regarding cancellations or failure to conclude the rental agreement.
Article 3 – Execution of Rental Agreement
The renter and our company will finalize the rental agreement after clearly presenting the rental terms based on these Terms and the posted price list.
In accordance with road transport regulations, we will require the renter to present a valid driver’s license and may request a copy.
We may also request additional identification documents to verify the renter’s identity.
We may request the renter to provide an emergency contact number (e.g., mobile phone).
We may designate accepted payment methods, such as credit card or cash.
If the renter or driver fails to comply with these requests, we may refuse to enter into the agreement and cancel the reservation (in which case the deposit will be handled per Article 2).
Article 4 – Right to Refuse Rental
We may refuse to enter into a rental agreement or cancel a reservation if any of the following apply:
- The driver does not hold a valid driver’s license
- The driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol
- The driver is suspected of being under the influence of drugs
- A child under 6 years old is riding without a child seat
- The renter or driver is affiliated with anti-social forces
- Violent or unreasonable demands were made toward our staff
- The renter has interfered with our business or damaged our reputation
- A violation of these Terms has been identified
- Any other reason deemed inappropriate by us
We will also refuse if:
- No suitable rental vehicle is available
- A child seat is required but cannot be provided
In all such cases, the deposit will be handled in accordance with Article 2.
Article 5 – Inspection and Maintenance
We will provide rental vehicles that have undergone daily and periodic inspections as required by road transport laws.
Upon receiving the vehicle, the renter or driver must check the vehicle’s exterior and included accessories to ensure they are in proper condition and meet the agreed rental terms.
Article 6 – Fuel and Cleanliness
The rental car must be returned with a full tank, as it will be provided with a full tank. If not refueled, a refueling charge will apply.
If the vehicle interior is excessively dirty, a cleaning fee may be charged.
Article 7 – Insurance and Compensation
Our rental vehicles do not include any insurance coverage (for liability, property damage, vehicle damage, or personal injury).
The renter is fully responsible for all damages, including accidents, breakdowns, or harm caused to third parties.
Even minor accidents can cost tens of thousands of yen, while serious accidents may result in liabilities from several million to hundreds of millions of yen.
We strongly recommend that renters purchase optional insurance and liability waivers. If the renter does not enroll, they bear full responsibility for any incidents.
